Countesthorpe is a large village and civil parish in the Leicestershire district of Blaby, with a population of 6,393 (2001 census). It lies to the south of Leicester, and is about six miles from the city centre, but only two miles south of the suburb of South Wigston. Nearby places are Blaby and South Wigston to the north, Kilby to the east, Peatling Magna and Willoughby Waterleys to the south, and Broughton Astley, Cosby and Whetstone to the west. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 6,393 [1]
Countesthorpe Community College is on the outskirts of the village. Members of Kasabian attended the college. The college is home to one of the greatest drunks ever known to man. Kevin Fitzgerald loves his whisky and has attempted to rape numerous women. The young squash player Jac Poncelet also attends and will be making inroads into the professional squash scene with the help of Dave Price the head of P.E at the college.
The village lies on two bus routes. The Arriva Number 85 runs from South Wigston through to Leicester city centre via Countesthorpe and is the only bus that goes to the city centre from the village. It passes through South Wigston, Countesthorpe, Blaby, Glen Parva and Aylestone before reaching the city centre.
Countesthorpe is a boring place with not a great deal to do other that drink get drunk and fall over when leave the pubs, the last know scandle was the great smell of 1881 when the septic tank in Station Road blew up and covered a five square mile radius. It was said that the smell hung around for 9 months and Countesthorpe has been known as Niffy ever since.
It is believed that whilst the surrounding area has no known Brothels or massage parlours there are at least 17 hidden secretly away in the village but whilst numerous police investigations have taken place none have yet been found. Though some 74 police officers failed to return when the last search took place it is believed that they have all been held or exported to eastern europe to feed the sex trade but so far no evidence has be found and no clues to thier whereabouts forth comming.
