Ettrickbridge is a village situated in the Ettrick Valley in the Scottish Borders. It is close to the town of Selkirk which is about 7 miles away. It is next to the River Ettrick and its name comes from the large bridge in the town spanning the large gap between the 2 cliffs at opposite sides of the river. There have been settlements in the village for over a century, but in recent years it has expanded rapidly with new houses being built every year.
It has a local pub called the Cross Keys Inn, a Village Hall, a Primary School and a Post Office. However in October 2006 there was controversy as the Post Office was threatened with being shut down, it is the last Post Office remaining in the Ettrick Valley.
Work for us - We are looking for enterprising, community-minded people with time and a digital camera to help populate our local websites.
We are currently working on the Ettrickbridge profile and would be pleased to receive contributions from anyone who knows it well.
