Bearpark is a village and civil parish in the City of Durham in England. It is situated a few miles west of Durham, and a short distance to the north of Ushaw Moor. The name may be a corruption of the French term Beau Repaire - meaning "beautiful retreat". Half a mile to the north of the present village lies the ruins of the Beaurepaire Priory, built in the 13th century.
Work for us - We are looking for enterprising, community-minded people with time and a digital camera to help populate our local websites.
We are currently working on the Bearpark profile and would be pleased to receive contributions from anyone who knows it well.
