Neighbours and other people in our street came along with house warming presents despite not know us. People are helpful and look after each other. (PEN-Y-FAI, MID GLAMORGAN) IT IS ONLY A SMALL VILLAGE LOCATED ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF BRIDGEND. ALTHOUGH THERE ISN&'T VERY MANY AMENITIES HERE, IT DOES HAVE A STRONG COMMUNITY ATMOSPHERE FOCUSED AROUND THE CHURCH, PRIMARY SCHOOL AND PUB. IT SEEMS THAT MANY PEOPLE KNOW ONE ANOTHER IN PEN-Y-FAI, WHICH IS A RARE AND QUITE FULFILLING THING TO SEE THESE DAYS. I THINK THAT HAVING THE PUB &'THE PHEASANT&' LOCATED ALMOST CENTRALLY TO THE VILLAGE CONTRIBUTES GREATLY TO &'NEIGHBOURHOOD&' FEEL AND AS WELL AS BEING A LOCAL FOR MANY RESIDENTS OF PEN-Y-FAI IT LENDS ITSELF IDEALLY FOR EVENTS AS THERE IS A LARGE SPORTS FIELD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF IT. There are many people in Walton who have what would now be called old fashioned values but such a caring and sharing approach to life is wonderful.
