RSPCA appeals for information after dog left tied to tree in woodland

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a middle-aged Jack Russell terrier was found tied up to a tree off of a pathway in Bickenhall Woods, near Taunton, on Saturday 9 July.

A couple spotted the small dog, now named Murray, who is believed to be about seven years-old after he was abandoned in the woods. They first saw him at 9:30am and by midday, nobody had returned to collect him.

The staff from the RSPCA’s Solent branch will be breathing new life into a colourful range of vintage RSPCA dog-shaped collection boxes in a new competition.

The hidden treasures were found in a storeroom and had not been used for many years, so staff came up with the idea to refurbish them in their spare time as part of a team challenge that will aim to raise money for the animals in their care.

Appeal for information after fox’s body is found wrapped in jumper in Luton

The RSPCA is appealing for information after the body of a fox covered in oil was found wrapped in a jumper on a Luton street.

A member of the public found the body in Oakley Road, Luton, on Monday 11 July and immediately called the RSPCA.

Appeal for information after swan is shot in Staffordshire

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a swan was shot in Staffordshire.

A member of the public witnessed a man aiming at and shooting the swan on a lake at Croxall Lakes nature reserve in Croxall Road, in Alrewas, at 9am on Thursday, 7 July. A body of a swan was later found nearby.

Appeal for information after cats die from antifreeze poisoning in Burntwood

The RSPCA is appealing for information after three cats died from antifreeze poisoning in the same area of Burntwood since the start of the year.

The cats – who all lived around Oak Lane in the Chase Terrace area – all died from kidney failure, with tests confirming that they ingested antifreeze. The third cat died earlier this month.

Bearded dragon abandoned in shopping bag outside Birmingham hospital

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a bearded dragon was abandoned inside a carrier bag outside a Birmingham hospital.

A member of the public contacted the animal welfare charity after they found the lizard inside the Morrisons’ bag on a bench opposite the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Edgbaston on Saturday, July 2.

Three cats on same street die from suspected poisoning in Cheshire

The RSPCA is appealing for information after three cats died from suspected poisoning in Wilmslow.

Mickey, Olli and Yoda all died between 23 June and 27 June after ingesting a toxic substance near to their neighbouring homes in Dairybrook Grove.

Tests at the vets showed that they had all ingested a toxic substance, although it is not known what the substance was.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after a kitten wrapped in a blue jumper was dumped in a box in a Birmingham front garden.

Appeal to trace owner of dog following incident in Burton shopping centre

The RSPCA is appealing for information following reports of a dog being beaten in Burton.

Members of the public witnessed a man beating his dog with a chain lead – which had a padlock on it – at Coopers Square shopping centre, in Burton, at around 11.20am on Friday, 24 June.

The dog was a white Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog flecked with brown spots and with brown patches on his face. He was wearing a black studded leather collar.
